Practical information
School hours:
The primary school building opens at 7:50am. Students gather in the school hall until 8:10am. Quiet time in grade homerooms is from 8:10 a.m. to 8:25 a.m. Classes begin at 8:25am.
School office:
The school office is open from 8am to 4pm on weekdays.
Snacks:
Ártúnsskóli is a health-promoting school. Students should bring healthy snacks to school.
Sports:
Physical education takes place in the Ártúnsskóli gymnasium. Swimming lessons are at Árbæjarlaug. Students travel between the school and pool by bus.
Phone use:
Ártúnsskóli is a phone-free school. If students need to bring phones to school, devices must be on silent and kept in schoolbags during the school day.
Permission for school absences:
Homeroom teachers can approve absences from school attendance for up to two days. For absences longer than two days, you must submit a permission form requesting an exemption from school attendance.
